If I Told You Now

Apr. 2nd, 2008 | 12:50 am
mood: exhausted exhausted

If I told you now
That I didn’t have the answers,
That I didn’t know the reasons,
That I didn’t hold the key –
If I told you now
That I couldn’t say for certain
That I wouldn’t break my promise,
Could you bear to look at me?

If I told you now
That in spite of my persistence
And my confident demeanor
I am more and more in doubt;
If I told you now,
Would you smile with understanding?
Would you burn with disappointment?
Would you turn and turn me out?

If I told you now,
I suspect you still might say
We’ve gone too far to change,
Or push away the tide.
Would you close us down,
Or would I get extra points because I tried?
If I tried.

If I told you now,
And I’m not about to tell you,
But in case I chose to mention
Things I know you won’t allow,
Would it hurt less later
If I told you now?

If I told you now
That we’re never really safe
From all the fires we set
Or debts we had to pay,
Would you hold me now
So at least, for this, for here,
I know you’d stay?
If you’d stay…

If I told you now,
It would be for your protection,
‘Cause I’m sure I’ll disappoint you,
Though I can’t imagine how –
Does it make me better
If I told you now?
Would you make me better
If I told you now?

So I'm back from Chicago and LA where I spent Chinese New Year :)

While I was in Chicago, I saw the most amazing physical theatre show EVER.

Photobucket
It was based on the Greek legend of Hephaestus, god of the forge and it had EVERYTHING in it. Circus acts, tight-rope walking, acrobatics, breakdancing, drumming. All done so close to the audience that they could reach out and touch the performers if they so wished. It was AMAZING.

Ah well. A video would say more than words ever could. Enjoy. :p

More video behind the cut! )

It Wasn't Meant For Me - Beauty World '08

Dec. 24th, 2007 | 01:14 am
mood: pensive pensive

Isn't loving strange,
Why do my feelings change
In a moment I've fallen,
And then nothing seems the same.

When I finally fall,
Every sound is her call
And when I answer running
I find no one there at all.

If I just could know whether being alone
Could be better than loving,
Cuz in the end you're on your own.

I suppose I'll see
If its meant to be
Why did I fall in love?
Maybe it wasn't meant for me.

There's a voice in my head
Saying leave right now instead

And a sound in my heart sings,
Telling me to stay

I suppose I'll see
If its meant to be

Why did I fall in love?
Maybe it wasn't meant for me.

Been tagged by [info]terminalcase42

1. List seven habits/quirks/facts about yourself.
2. Tag seven people to do the same.
3. Do not tag the person who tagged you or say that you tag whoever wants to do it.

1. I have a pair of undies with pig prints that I (occasionally) flash at people.

2. I have a fairly acute fear of heights. I can't even ride in those bubble elevators without being as close to the door as possible!

3. I have bent pinkies, which I used to scare classmates with by pretending that I'd broken them on their tables. :p

4. I was in the Boys' Brigade in primary school and was asked to sing solo during one of our services, after which the choir teacher in the school asked me to join the choir, which I refused to on the grounds that it was a sissy ECA...

5. I'm left-handed. *waves left hand at people* *curses world made for right-handers. we die earlier.*

6. I hate, HATE, brushing my teeth. Its one of my least favourite activities ever.

7. I trim. :p

Ok... let's see... I tag... [info]dlareg, [info]spawnily, [info]crappywings, [info]meta_dragon, [info]pinming, [info]strandedsinger, [info]strawberry_cow

Edinburgh Day 1

Jul. 31st, 2007 | 12:13 pm
mood: slightly sleep deprived

So after 16 hours of travelling we finally arrive at Scotland's capital city, Edinburgh for the Edinburgh Fringe Festival. We were here three years ago with Dancing With Dragons and now we're back with Rainbow Fish and Under The Dragon Moon. :)

Our apartment is great! Its just along a main thoroughfare with busses that take us right into the city centre 24 hours a day 7 days a week :) As usual, [info]terminalcase42and I are sharing a room. But at least its one with an ensuite bathroom. And I've just discovered how big biotherm freaks we really are. EVERYTHING in the room is biotherm. Will post pictures soon :p

So after settling in, we had the whole day free before our 12 MIDNITE - 5AM technical rehearsal. I kid you not. So many groups are coming in that the theatre venue is working 24 hours just to make sure that everyone gets a tech and dress rehearsal before shows. Unfortunately, our dress rehearsal was also scheduled for 10am the same day, so we kinda missed that.

Its now 12 noon here and we're off to do flyer runs as well as to run errands before we begin performances tomorrow. Performances run from 10-11am for Rainbow Fish and then 12:20-1:20pm for Dragon Moon.

Pics of Edinburgh after cut :) )

So now after 5 hours of sleep, we're off to see more of Edinburgh and harass people with our flyers and posters. Wish us luck for the run!

So, Dim Sum is finally over. No rest for the wicked, though. Am currently in rehearsals for the UK tour of Under the Dragon Moon and Rainbow Fish. Will also be rehearsing for the I Theatre and Tall Stories (UK) production of The Snow Dragon while I'm there and bringing it back to Singapore in September. To top it all off, I've got school shows and teaching engagements every day while I'm not rehearsing till I leave. Shouldn't be complaining, I know, but its damn tiring lor!!

Anyway, received a series of photos from Dragon Moon today. Shall let the pics do the talking.

Begin schpiel here:

Tired of seeing the same faces in theatre shows over and over again? Complaining that there's nothing new happening in the arts scene in Singapore? Well look no further! Young & W!ld, a division of W!ld Rice is proud to present *drum roll*

Catch all 14 members of young & W!LD, W!LD RICE’s new youth division, in action as they unveil their first production as an exciting new acting ensemble - On North Diversion Road.

This powerful play by Filipino playwright Tony Perez reveals ten different couples driving along the same highway, dealing with marriage-on-the-rocks in a range of stunning and surprising ways. Like a symphony in 10 movements, the often hilarious and always heart-wrenching vignettes are woven into a gripping journey of betrayal, and the love and hate it unearths.

In On North Diversion Road, the young & W!LD will also be taking on the responsibility of other aspects of theatre by taking on other production roles, such as production management, marketing and costume design.

You are sociable, outgoing, energetic, and lively. You prefer to be around people much of the time. Stressful and frustrating situations can be upsetting to you, but you are generally able to get over these feelings and cope with these situations. Novelty, variety, and change spice up your life and make you a curious, imaginative, and creative person. People see you as tough, critical, and uncompromising and you have less concern with others' needs than with your own. You like to live for the moment and do what feels good now. Your work tends to be careless and disorganized.
